LIV Golf League: Jon Rahm explains why he won't follow Bryson DeChambeau in having direct role to find new funding

Jon Rahm has confirmed he will not be joining Bryson DeChambeau in meeting with potential investors to try and help secure LIV Golf's long-term future beyond this season.

Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund , saying the "substantial investment required is no longer consistent" with the fund's investment strategy moving forward.

LIV Golf has since accelerated its push to find long-term financial partners, with and "giving all he can" to help it continue.

DeChambeau - optimistic about LIV Golf's hopes of finding fresh funding - is understood to have personally attended pitches with investors, alongside chief executive Scott O'Neil, although Rahm is not interested in following suit.

"It would be more of a stay-in-your-lane type situation as it goes to me," Rahm said ahead of this week's LIV Golf event at Valderrama in Andalucia, Spain. "I know nothing about business.

"I'm never going to claim to know anything about business and if I was in a business pitch, I wouldn't know the first thing to say. My job is to play golf and I'll say it's hard enough as it is, especially this week.

"If any player who knows what they're doing is willing to do certain things like that, I think it can only help. To have insight from a player on a meeting like that can help and I'm open for any suggestions possible.

"I would also say I don't have the free time that Bryson has to be flying around the country to attend meetings with three little ones and one on the way. Even if I wanted to, I don't know if I could do it."

It remains unclear what LIV Golf's schedule will look like beyond this season, along with whether the current format will continue or which players will seek to compete elsewhere, but Sergio Garcia remains optimistic O'Neil can ensure the league continues.

"I think that obviously there's a little bit of uncertainty, but we're really excited about the work that our CEO, Scott [O'Neil], and his team are putting in," Garcia said.

"We enjoy being involved in it, giving our input and seeing how we can help make sure that the league keeps going forward. We're very confident that that's going to happen. It's just going to look different.

"In my opinion, more than being worried about if LIV is going to keep going or the league is going to keep going, it's more how is it going to look going forward. I think that's where we are.

"We're trying to figure out the best way possible moving forward and how we can be excited for all of us, not only ourselves but our fans, our sponsors, everyone that is involved.

"We're looking forward to seeing the final product."
